Time Out Challenge #102, Heart Happiness

Hi there!

It is beautifully sunny outside today, but my word it is cold! So, I am snuggled up inside, crafting and planning, and I should really have a good tidy of my craft room when I have finished this, it is getting a bit too…  you know, crafty…

This card has been inspired by this fabulous photo, over at Time Out Challenges:

For my card, I masked a square centrally on the card front, then stamped the little hearts in Versamark Ink and embossed in gold.  As they are clear stamps it was relatively easy to line them up by eye, embossing each row, then stamping the next so that I could be as accurate as possible.

I then stamped the heart image in black ink, centrally on the card.  I made sure to use an embossing buddy before the next step, so that when I stamped the YOU in Versamark, the embossing powder only stuck where I needed it to.  If you have any stray grains of powder, ensure to brush them off with a small brush before heating the powder.

I then simply hand drew the black box around the heart, and matted the card front onto a black mat, with a very thin border, before adhering to the card base.

  1. Yes, it is a very graphic style of card, but I love it! So crisp and clean – and the gold, black and white work so well together. Love how you found inspiration from home decor – wonderful!
