Muse 251, Bird Banter

BirdBanterMuse251

Hi there,

It has been a tough month, and for personal reasons I have been unable to craft as much as I would have liked, and it has been difficult to share what I have been able to create.  Everything is getting better now though, so I am jumping back into what I love, and what I need to do to make me feel more like myself.

To get jump started I headed over to the Muse Card Challenge for some inspiration and as always, I wasn’t disappointed!  The Muse this week is this fantastic card created by Vicki Dutcher:

I was inspired by the three cheeky main characters, and the patterned central background piece.  Such a cheery, happy card!

To make my card, I stamped the bird images, and then created masks for each one, and placed these over the birds.  I then cut a circle from a piece of masking paper, and placed the exterior piece over the birds (ie, the piece remaining when the circle is removed).

I sponged Garden Green Ink over the space, and then stamped the leaf image from Lovely Wishes – stamping off twice before stamping on the card, so that the leaves were knocked into the background.  With the masks still on, I then stamped the branch images on, so that the birds were no longer floating.

Once removing the masks, I used a blender pen to colour the images, using Island Indigo, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral for the birds, and Garden Green for the leaves on the branches.

The sentiment was simply stamped in Versamark Ink then embossed in white and popped up on Dimensionals.
