I am really enjoying taking part in the 30 day colouring challenge over at The Daily Marker blog with Kathy Racoosin. I am planning in time each day to do some colouring and because it doesn’t have to be big or a completed challenge I haven’t found it daunting and have quite easily managed to fit it into my day. This has meant so much to me, to be able to feel like I am achieving something and to show myself that I can spend some me-time, creating and crafting.
I have a card for the My Favourite Things sketch challenge, a new challenge to me. My lovely husband (yes, I know I keep saying it, but he really is) bought me lots of crafty goodies for my birthday, one of which was the London Mouse stamp set from MFT which is just so adorable that I needed to break it out of it’s packaging straight away!
I took the sketch and rotated it clockwise:
Firstly I stamped the mouse in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens. To create the background image I used scrap paper and stamped my scene out to use as a guide. I looked at which images were at the front then stamped these images onto my card and masked them before I stamped the images which appear behind them. I used Spectrum Noir pens to shade the scene, all in the IG range. I created a frame for the background and after fussy cutting out my mouse I attached him to the frame before sticking this down over the scene with foam tape for some dimension. I love the way he pops out from the card!
Thank you for taking the time to read my post, leave a comment and let me know what you think! Cx
So sweet, love how you have kept the background B&W and the image bright red, it totally makes it pop!
