So I have made it my mission to take part in Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Colour Challenge which is running throughout February. I wanted to do this partly to make me focus on taking some time out to craft each day to keep me happy and also as an excuse to practice my colouring skills – I enjoy doing it so much but am sometimes left frustrated that I can’t achieve the results I want. As my time is now so limited, I won’t be able to blog the results daily but I have recently discovered Instagram (I know, I am so behind!) and am revelling in how easy it is to get some projects out there. If you want to take a look at some of my other work, check out my account.
Today the baby actually took a nap so I have been able to make a quick and simple card which I would like to enter into the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge where the theme is Santa (again, apologies for the dark photo).
I searched for this MFT Jingle All the Way stamp set for so long when I first saw it but it was out of stock everywhere. My lovely husband managed to track it down for me for an early Christmas present but I never got the chance to use it, so I was so pleased when I saw the challenge theme!
The card is super simple – images stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured with Spectrum Noir pens. I did add a little extra touch though, the carrot for Rudolph! I just made sure to stamp this first, then mask before stamping the presents over the top. To add some detail I used a gold gel pen and a layer of Wink of Stella for the belt, bells and bow and a white gel pen for the detail on the presents.
I am really looking forward to the rest of the colour challenge – are you taking part too? Cx
