An absolute stunner of a card to case over at the Time Out Challenge blog and some great inspiration from the design team finally got me using some of my gorgeous Christmas presents. Please forgive the dark photos – I don’t think the sun has actually come out at all over the last 2 days!
I used the beautiful Layered Lily stamp set from Altenew to stamp the 2nd layer in Memento Rose Pink ink then the 3rd and 4th in Memento Lilac Posies ink. I then stamped the stamen in Versamagic Cloud White ink and shaded the tips of the stamens with a yellow pencil.
I love this stamp set but I wanted the base layer to be white and yet also stand out from the card. In order to achieve this I stamped the 1st layer onto a post-it and cut out a mask which I placed over the pink layers on the card. I used a distress tool to gently sponge Shaded Lilac Distress Ink around the flower to create a shadow and then faded this out away from the petals. I the placed horizontal masks over the image to enable me to sponge the horizontal lines. The sentiment is from Altenew’s Magnolias for Her stamp set, embossed with a detail fine white embossing powder. As a finishing touch I added Wink of Stella to the white areas of the lily – unfortunately you can’t see this in the picture but it looks so pretty in real life.
I loved the card so much I made two more, each with a slight variation:
let me know which is your favourite, I would love to hear what you think! Cx
