It has been a while since my last post – I have been away to see some of my very good friends get married at what I have to say was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been too. The bride and her family are incredibly arty and had put so much work into all those little extra touches that really make a big difference. I loved the whole event and may be borrowing some of their ideas in the future… I am sure she won’t mind!
My card today is a clean and simple card to enter The Card Concept Challenge which this week is themed “monochromatic purple”. I recently acquired this beautiful Indigo Blu stamp and knew I wanted to use it for this challenge – it is one of those ‘wow’ images.
I first masked off a section of the kraft card then blended white Colourbox ink over the area. I then used Distress Inks in Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord and blended over the top. I hadn’t let the white ink dry enough before I did this but I think this helped on the whole as the inks blended into the white and seemed to sink into the kraft. I then stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I finished the image by hand-drawing the black border – I think from a design point of view the image needed to be framed.
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think Cx
Hi, thanks for coming to visit me. I absolutely love this stamp and what a fabulous technique you’ve used. Definitely one to add to my ‘must try’ list! Xx
I’d have never thought that blending over kraft was even possible! Thanks for explaining your technique, it looks great and I really want to try it as well. Gorgeous card!
Wow, Christine, this is so eyecatching! Love how the amazing blending mimics the flow and movement of the image! Good to see you back in blogland! Anita 🙂
Love the ombre effect – it’s like the colour is being scattered in the wind as well as her hair! So glad you joined us at The Card Concept!
I would never have thought of blending over Kraft (I thought your central panel was stuck on until I read your blog!) – it looks amazing and I will definitely be giving it a go. Love that Indigo Blu image too – just beautiful 🙂
