So this weekend did not work out as planned. It being a bank holiday in the UK the weather was supposed to be awful and I had planned a weekend of crafting. As it turns out, the weather was beautiful and myself and my husband spent our time in the garden – I have planted out all of our hanging baskets and patio containers, whilst my husband has created a beautiful rockery in what was a wasted piece of ground.
All of this means that I have not had a chance to do any crafting and I am now back full in the swing of work so I shall have very little time over the next 2 weeks to escape to my craft room.
I did want to put out a post though so I thought I would share my first real piece of homemade décor – a French ribbon board to hang in my craft room to pin cards and inspiration pieces.
I am so proud of this! I looked at several sites to see how I could make one and used different ideas from each. It was relatively easy to do and I only needed to buy a couple of bits to make it. I am most pleased with the brads – I couldn’t find what I wanted so I bought gold ones and used Versamark and embossing powder to make them the colour I needed. They turned out so well I am in danger of embossing everything I own!
(I should note, in the picture the board is upside down – my husband took the photo but that’s just because he doesn’t know any better!)
Take a look at the card on the right hand side – this is the card I made for my guest post at Uniko Studio – you can check that post out here. The card on the left was my first effort – I don’t love it but I did enjoy making it, I got very, very inky.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Cx
