Excuse the short break – have been away with the husband on a lovely holiday. Back to work tomorrow but managed to squeeze in a card today to enter the latest “home sweet home” themed Time Out Challenge.
The challenge provided an inspiration photo with lots of white space and butterflies.

I started off stamping my Urban stamps butterflies onto my card stock in black ink and onto vellum in Versamark which I then embossed with black embossing powder.
I wanted to nod towards the home theme so used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to create the criss/cross background which I think makes it look cushioned especially when highlighted with the little pearls.
I then took the vellum butterflies and used a glue pen to add Winter Dawn Megaflakes from Indigoblu (although I had to pick out the colours I wanted). I used Gelatos to colour the underside of the vellum to try to match the colour of the background. I then cut the butterflies out and adhered them onto the stamped images on the cardstock.
The mat layer is just vellum coloured with the same Gelatos in order to get a good match.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think, Cx

Christine, this is gorgeous!!!!! I adore the background created with the cross cross and the delicate pearls- it looks exactly like a soft, padded cushion!! The butterflies are just breathtaking. I love the colours you have used and the gold is stunning. Just beautiful. Laura xx
