I am so excited to have been voted a featured member in last week’s Muse Challenge – this is the first recognition I have recieved and it means the world to me. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has posted a comment on my blog – crafters are such a supportive bunch of people.
This is my entry into this week’s challenge using this amazing card by Therese Calvird as inspiration:
I clear embossed the stripes and was aiming to distress them slightly to take on some of the wood grain appearance from the inpiration card – this didn’t quite work out how I expected but I went with it anyway!
I used a stamp from Get Stamping magazine issue 3 and shaded it with my new Spectrum Noir pens. This is the first time I have used them and was really pleased with how well they blend, particularly with such dark colours. Still need some practice with my shading though! I hand drew and coloured the hearts, then added the sentiment propped up on foam squares to give it a 3D wave.
Thanks again for all of the comments, they really make my day, Cx
Congrats on your well deserved win! You have another fantastic card here, I love the way the pink cycle pops off the panel, especially with those hearts trailing behind!
Congratulations, again Christine … that was a lovely card! This one’s equally fab … gorgeous bold colours against the subtle kraft … and such a sweet heart-shaped exhaust plume over the banner! Anita 🙂
I love the embossed stripes on your card base – a fun way of adding texture and shine! Thanks so much for joining us at Muse this week!
LOVE!!
I ❤ the magenta vespa! Now.. I wanna go to Italy lol. Congratulations!
Love this scooter image – great take on this week’s Muse!
I missed the Muse vote this week, but still wanted to say how cute your card is. I love the switch to the scooter. Your striping also makes an obvious nod to the wood grain in the original. Nice ….
