When I buy a stamp set I want to make sure I can get lots of use out of it, and sometimes you need to look beyond the main images to the smaller ones, which will allow you to create something totally different. The Stampin’ Up! set Jar of Love has lots of different images, the possibilities are endless.
For this card I selected the gorgeous sentiment “throw kindness around like confetti” as my inspiration, and used the heart and dot stamps to create my confetti. I stamped the sentiment first to centralise it on the card, and then stamped the dot images in three different pink inks. In order to make it look like I have used more colours, I have done some second generation stamping, and this is a great way to get more from your stash. I then stamped the heart image in Versamark ink and used a gold embossing powder. Once this had cooled, I repeated this, but with a clear embossing powder instead (check out the feature image for the blog post, these really stand out here).
Now this card looks totally different, but was so quick and easy. I chose the stamp that is supposed to be the hessian ribbon to wrap around a jar, and by repeat stamping it in different colours, I have made it the feature image for this card. I had originally intended to use rainbow colours, but found these shades of blue ready on my craft desk, and they create a great ombre effect. I think you could easily recreate this card with a selection of different colours, and with different sentiments this would be great to use for a card set. This would also be a great design to use for a masculine card.
