Time Out Challenge #50

Wow, that last week flew by! I have been making a concerted effort to do some crafting every day, inspired by Kathy Racoosin’s 30 day colouring challenge.  I’ll be honest, I have missed a couple of days, but that is the point – it is a no pressure challenge meant to inspire and encourage.  I love it!  I was absolutely stunned when Kathy posted one of my pieces on her blog, The Daily Marker.  It isn’t yet a completed project so I have only posted it on my Instagram account so far but I thought you might like to see it here:

This was made using Altenew’s Baby Zoo stamp set with Memento Grey Flannel ink and my Spectrum Noir pens to add shading.  This is going to be made into a card for a very special little guy that joined our family today!

Onto the Time Out Challenge…  This week is a photo inspired “Home, sweet home” challenge:

Lots of inspiration possibilities here but I focussed on the travel theme and iconic imagery to create this:

london mouse film strip

I used the fabulous London Mouse stamp set from MFTstamps to create scenes inside the film strip with a little masking.  Images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens.  I tried to keep the colour pallet limited but bright, to pop out from the black film strip.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, leave me a comment and let me know what you think!  Cx

  1. Love how you went so vibrant with the colours and they do pop so well from the film strip. Those images are just perfect for our challenge and your colouring amazing. Great to see you at TO

  2. Congratulations on being featured on Kathy’s blog, Christine … that elephant is fabulous! Your London film strip is brilliant … so iconic and fun … and such wonderful colouring! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  3. Amazing colouring on our elephant, I’ve done very little ‘dotting’ but the effect totally makes all the difference! Your photostrip London mouse is totally cute and makes me want to pop over to the UK for a visit, might be a little cold right now though lol,
