Aaahhh, Henna Elements, how I have coveted you… I have seriously wanted this beautiful stamp set from Altenew for so long now, in fact, since they launched, nearly 2 years ago. Finally managed to get my hands on it and boy it doesn’t disappoint. Love it!
Tracey Mcneely’s card over at the Muse Challenge Blog gave me the perfect opportunity to use my new set straight away:
Isn’t it gorgeous! It is plain to see my inspiration here – I loved the bright colours and thought they would work perfectly with the graphic florals of Henna Elements and the gold embossing adds that extra special touch.
To make my card I first stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (an ink that plays nicely with alcohol pens) and shaded with Spectrum Noir pens. I added a little detail with a gold pen, then reinked the images with Versamark ink and embossed with Wow Rich Gold embossing powder. I popped up a couple of the flowers on foam tape to add a bit of depth and added the sentiment which is from the same stamp set.
I am still playing along with Kathy Racoosin’s 30 day colouring challenge (although I have missed a couple of days due to being poorly) and with the practice I am beginning to find it easier to find blending sets and add in shadows. I am finding some colours easier to blend than others – don’t know if this is just me? Still some work to do but I think I am getting better!
Thank you for taking the time out to read my post. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think, Cx

Stunning card! Love the gold!
Beautiful card, love your colouring and how you overstepped with the gold embossing powder. Love these flowers, one of my favourite sets.
sorry that was meant to be over stamped not overstepped
