First post of two this evening with this card which I would like to enter into 2 challenges – Addicted to CAS where the theme is ‘Oriental’, and Time Out Challenges where there is a surprise extra challenge with the theme ‘Double the Joy’ to celebrate the happy news from Uniko Studio‘s Bev who is now the proud mum of twins.
I stamped the Koi fish in Tangelo Memento Ink, then masked off and inked over with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I cut a post it into wavy lines then used these strips to mask off in selected areas. I then sponged over with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Once the masks were removed I added a disc of vellum to soften the image and to give the impression of depth in the water. To hide the glue from the vellum, I added a circular frame which I inked with Peacock Feathers ink then clear embossed.
Koi fish typically represent luck and fortune, so I would like to say congratulations to Bev and husband and wish them luck and fortune with their lovely new family.
So elegant and serene, Christine … the delicate sponged background and vellum give such a fabulous sense of depth and dimension! Thanks so much for playing along with our special challenge at Time Out! Anita 🙂
