Time Out Challenge #14 Guest Design.

Time Out Challenge Guest Design

I was very excited to be asked to be a guest designer for Time Out Challenges after winning challenge #12 with this card.  The new challenge is a photo inspiration with a ‘Home, Sweet Home’ theme:

When I received the inspiration picture I didn’t know where to start as I had lots of different ideas running around my head. A couple of things jumped out at me – the natural colour scheme, the typewriter style font, the white blocks and the twine.

I decided to do something I don’t normally do – I gathered together a collection of different materials in the right colours and some stamps I hadn’t used before.  With everything together on my desk I just played, pulling together my different ideas until I came up with something cohesive.

The finished card is very different to my usual style; natural colours with a graphic image.  I added the twine and ribbon to soften the card and I think it represents the photo well.

Pop on over to the Time Out Challenge blog to see what the Design Team have come up with – can’t wait to see your creations too!

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think, Cx

  1. Hi Christine we are so pleased you joined is this week and with such a stunning card. What a great idea to get out your stash like this and it sure worked out. I love the little heart matched with the twine x

  2. So delighted you’re GD at Time Out at the same time as my debut, Christine … and with such a fabulous card! Love the dimension and texture of all those natural elements … and of course I love all that glorious white space! As you’ve a previously unused stamp, you could also link this up to Darnell’s second NBUS challenge … it’s perfect for it! Anita 🙂

  3. I love how you interpreted the photo inspiration, Christine, and I love how you described your process to get there! I can just see it happening and that was fun! Congratulations on the win/Guest Design spot!! Hugs, Darnell

  4. Christine, what a fantastic card – so clean and simple yet so effective. I love the clean lines created with the black and white colour scheme and your cute male and female figures. I just got a chance to look at the card you won with too and it is utterly stunning. What a clever idea!!! xx
