I was very excited to be asked to be a guest designer for Time Out Challenges after winning challenge #12 with this card. The new challenge is a photo inspiration with a ‘Home, Sweet Home’ theme:
When I received the inspiration picture I didn’t know where to start as I had lots of different ideas running around my head. A couple of things jumped out at me – the natural colour scheme, the typewriter style font, the white blocks and the twine.
I decided to do something I don’t normally do – I gathered together a collection of different materials in the right colours and some stamps I hadn’t used before. With everything together on my desk I just played, pulling together my different ideas until I came up with something cohesive.
The finished card is very different to my usual style; natural colours with a graphic image. I added the twine and ribbon to soften the card and I think it represents the photo well.
Pop on over to the Time Out Challenge blog to see what the Design Team have come up with – can’t wait to see your creations too!

So delighted you’re GD at Time Out at the same time as my debut, Christine … and with such a fabulous card! Love the dimension and texture of all those natural elements … and of course I love all that glorious white space! As you’ve a previously unused stamp, you could also link this up to Darnell’s second NBUS challenge … it’s perfect for it! Anita 🙂
