The Card Concept Challenge #7

Cadr Concept 7

The theme for The Card Concept this week is butterflies. I masked off an area of the card and stamped my Urban Stamps butterfly image repeatedly to fill the space. I used Spectrum a Noir pens to colour one butterfly in with the colours from the inspiration photo, and to shade the gaps between the other butterflies. I am brand new to alcohol pens and definitely need to keep practising!

Part of the challenge is to create your card in the style of one of the design team. I think this card would class as clean and simple but I often struggle to define my style.

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think, Cx

  1. This is STUNNING. What a beautiful composition!!! What a clever idea keeping the butterflies white and colouring in the gaps inbetween- I always do the opposite. This is so refreshing. The red butterfly is amazing set against the other muted colours. Xxx

  2. I think it’s a winner, Christine! I love a masked off border on a card and this is a wonderful example, a beautiful layout. The spotlight on one of the butterflies really engages the viewer!! Well done!! I hope you have a great day! Hugs, Darnell

  3. STUN…NING! This is truly a spectacular card in every way! I love the clean fresh look and the stamped panel is just gorgeous! Thanks so much for joining us at The Card Concept! 🙂

  4. This is so pretty – it just popped right off the screen at the card concept. Love how you just colored in one butterfly. I think I’ll have to remember this beautiful idea!!

  5. Wow! Your card is gorgeous! You obviously are blessed with a natural ‘coloring’ talent because there is NO WAY that this looks like the work of an amateur “color-er” (I know…that’s not really a word!). Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL clean & perfectly balanced layout! Thanks for supporting the Card Concept Challenge – I totally enjoyed seeing your talent & creativity!
