A new challenge for me today – Merry Monday Christmas Challenge – what a brilliant idea! Wish I had discovered this blog at the beginning of the year so I don’t experience the usual mad rush at Christmas to get all of my cards made, written and posted in time!
The theme for this week’s challenge is sequins. Now I am not usually into too much bling but all the rules change for Christmas cards and anything goes.
I recently won a challenge on the Uniko blog with a card from this post. There was a prize of £10 to spend at the Uniko store and I treated myself to the beautiful Stunning Snowflakes stamp set. Due to work and holiday I hadn’t had a chance to use it so this seemed like the perfect project.
I firstly stamped the snowflakes in Versamark and embossed, then inked over the images with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I then tried a new to me technique which I had seen on Jennifer McGuire’s amazing blog where I ironed off the embossing to leave a perfectly smooth surface which I could stamp the sentiment straight onto. Then came the sequins – this started off as just three but then I couldn’t help myself adding some more…

Beautiful card. I have never heard of ironing off the embossing. but it all looks great.

Beautiful card! I love the snowflakes and the sentiment. The sequins do give it that sparkle! I recently started using sequins and really do love how they add that little extra to a project.
